EATMEAT Games is an independent French video game development studio, driven by a small team of passionate people who want to create experiences built on rich game systems, immersive worlds, and strong player involvement. Our philosophy is simple: build worlds that don't just wait for the player, but that evolve and operate according to their own rules.
We are currently working on Sharp Flint, a systemic survival experience set in a living prehistoric world. The project places observation, knowledge of the environment, and adaptation at the heart of the experience. Rather than constantly guiding the player through traditional markers and indicators, we want the world itself to become their interface. Tracks in the snow, crushed vegetation, weather, wind, darkness, or animal behavior are all pieces of information that must be learned to be interpreted in order to survive.
Hunting plays a central role in Sharp Flint and relies on several steps: spotting an animal's tracks, understanding the terrain, using the environment to stay discreet, studying a herd's behavior, choosing the right moment to attack, and then tracking a wounded prey. Every decision can have consequences, while carcasses and abandoned resources can in turn attract other animals.
This philosophy extends to the entire ecosystem. Animals move, feed, flee, reproduce, and die independently of the player's actions. Rain, wind, snow, and the passage of time continually transform the information available in the environment and force you to adapt your approach.
Sharp Flint also places particular importance on cooperation. Hunting in a group makes it possible to take on larger prey, carry more resources, and protect other members of the community. Beyond immediate survival, the game also explores transmission: building a camp, sharing one's knowledge, preparing the next generation, and leaving behind a legacy.
With EatMeat games, we want to develop experiences shaped together with their community, where understanding the world and learning from one's own adventures become just as important as the action itself.
