Lizardcube is a Paris-based video game studio founded in 2015 by Omar Cornut, a veteran of the gaming industry (known for titles such as Pixeljunk Shooter, Tearaway, Soul Bubbles, and creator of Dear ImGui), and by comic book artist and traditional animator Ben Fiquet (Soul Bubbles).
We specialize in creating high-quality 2D games that respect both players and original licenses.
Our first major project, "Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap," is an acclaimed remake of the 1989 classic. The game was praised for its hand-drawn artistic style and faithfulness to the original work, offering a nostalgic experience for longtime players while captivating a new generation.
We then contributed to "Streets of Rage 4," where we handled all art direction, animation, and visuals. This project revitalized an iconic 1990s franchise, preserving the essence of classic gameplay while introducing modern mechanics and stunning visuals.
Currently, we are working on a third, unannounced game, continuing our commitment to producing innovative and artistically rich gaming experiences.
Our team consists of passionate professionals, each bringing unique expertise to create immersive and captivating worlds. We strongly believe in the importance of craftsmanship in game development, emphasizing hand-drawn visuals and meticulous attention to detail.
In addition to our game projects, we contribute to the development community with tools such as Dear ImGui, a lightweight graphical user interface library for C++ developed by Omar Cornut, widely used by development studios worldwide.
