La Poule Noire is a French cooperative specializing in the development of 2D narrative video games, infused with humor and comedy. Founded in February 2018 by three former classmates from ENJMIN, the team is spread between Angoulême, Lyon, and Paris, primarily working remotely.
Our first title, "Edgar - Bokbok in Boulzac," invites players to explore a strange and comical universe, populated with quirky characters and ancient secrets.
In 2023, we launched "To Hell With The Ugly," an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Boris Vian. This adventure game immerses players in 1950s Los Angeles, blending investigations and turn-based combat in a film noir atmosphere.
In addition to our own creations, we collaborate with other studios by offering services such as console ports, optimization, technical consulting, release management, illustration, and production. Among our partners are UsTwo Games, Dear Villagers, and Seed By Seed.
We prioritize a human and joyful approach in our work, incorporating a comedic dimension into our games that mock societal phenomena.
