La Folie Studio is an independent French studio based in Paris. We create video games inspired by science, driven by curiosity, exploration, and the desire to offer sensitive, accessible, and unique experiences. Our approach is based on a simple conviction: a game can inspire wonder without necessarily relying on combat, instead inviting players to observe, listen, understand, and interact with the world around them.
With Wavekin, our first game, we wanted to bring to life a contemplative, mysterious, and narrative underwater adventure. In this universe, the ocean is not just a backdrop: it becomes a living territory, filled with sunken ruins, enigmatic creatures, ancient secrets, and forgotten songs. The player embodies a being from a declining civilization, guided by their voice to explore the depths, open new paths, communicate with creatures, and gradually restore the balance of a world threatened by silence.
On a human scale, our team brings together complementary profiles in design, development, art direction, communication, and production. This structure allows us to work with agility, stay close to our founding ideas, and evolve our projects with great attention to detail. Every choice in gameplay, atmosphere, pacing, or narrative is designed to strengthen immersion and encourage a more intuitive relationship between the player and the environment.
We love designing games that leave room for discovery, interpretation, and emotion. Our inspirations come as much from video games as from nature, research, scientific imaginaries, and stories that question our relationship with the living world. As an independent studio, we claim this freedom of tone and creation, with the desire to build universes that remain in memory.
